One of the best ways for you to add your personality to your home and make it feel unique is to re-cover a lampshade.
You can go subtle or really bold…
You can repeat a fabric you already have in the room or make a statement with something completely different.
Whatever you end up choosing, it will make your home feel extra special, because the chances are that no one else will have the same lampshade as you!
And the best thing?
Re-covering a lampshade is much easier than it looks!
So in this video, I’m showing you how you can make yours…
Ready?
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Lampshade
- Fabric
- Parchment paper
- Pen
- Scissors
- Spray adhesive
- Hot glue gun + glue sticks
Ready? Let’s go!
The Steps:
Step 1: Make a paper template.
Step 2: Try it out on the shade to make sure it works.
Step 3: Secure it in place with pins.
Step 4: Cut the fabric bigger than the template. I usually leave around 6 cm on each side.
Step 5: Iron to fabric to remove any wrinkles from it.
Step 6: Spray the adhesive on the shade.
Step 7: Cover the lampshade with the fabric.
Step 8: Cut the excess fabric.
Step 9: Fold the edge of the fabric and glue it before doing the same with the top and bottom of the lampshade.
Step 10: Fold again and glue it to the lampshade.
And pronto!!!!
