Hey lovely, does this sound like you?
- You take forever to make design decisions.
- Go back and forth between wall colours.
- Purchase home decor items just to return them a few days later.
If so, you’re not alone…
We’ve all been there… it’s normal for people to take some time to make decisions – especially big ones.
The problem is when you start feeling stuck because you spend waaay too much time weighing your options, and you just can’t make a choice.
This type of overthinking is common and even has a fancy name… is called analysis paralysis.
And it happens when you’re scared of making the wrong decision because you don’t have confidence in your design skills or the vision you’re going for.
So, I’m giving you 3 tips to help you find your confidence and stop overthinking, so you can FINALLY move forward with your design!
Here’s what you can do:
1. Narrow down your design style.
With SO many gorgeous interiors out there, it’s normal to feel all over the place and drawn by ALL the design styles when choosing one.
So to help you narrow down the options, consider:
- Your home’s location and architectural features
- Natural light
- And especially the vibe you want it to evoke + what you REALLY love – we’ll talk more about it in a bit!
This will help you focus on what will make you happy with the end results.
For instance, if you feel tempted by a moody room you saw on Insta, but you know that what you REALLY want is a happy and airy vibe…
Then the “moody style” won’t work for you.
Also, once you’ve defined your style, it will be easier to pick the items for it, because you just need to ask yourself:
Does this sofa evoke the style I’m going for?
2. Focus on what you REALLY love.
Does that chair make your heart sing? Does it bring a smile to your face when you imagine it in your dining room?
If not, then that’s not the right choice for you.
I know it’s cheese, but you just need to listen to your heart.
Let it help you make the right decisions. It’s that simple!
Trends come and go, but what you really love will always make you happy!
3. Let go of perfection.
Here’s the thing…
Your space doesn’t have to be perfect.
It just needs to feel like YOU.
Give yourself permission to make a few mistakes, walls can be repainted, items can be returned…
Just give it a try.
If you mess things up, it can be fixed most of the time!
So don’t put some much pressure on you!
And don’t forget to trust your intuition.
Once you do, your dream home will be closer to reality!
I’m rooting for you!
To a colourful life,
