One of the best ways for you to add your personality to your home and make it feel unique is to re-cover a lampshade.
You can go subtle or really bold… you can repeat a fabric you already have in the room or make a statement with something completely different.
Whatever you choose, it will make your home feel extra special, because the chances are that no one else will have the same lampshade as you!
And the best thing is that re-covering a lampshade is much easier than it looks!
So in this video, I’m showing you how you can make yours:
What you’ll need:
- Lampshade
- Fabric
- Parchment paper
- Pen
- Scissors
- Spray adhesive
- Hot glue gun + glue sticks
How to:
Step 1: Make a template
Step 2: Try it out
Step 3: Secure it in place
Step 4: Cut it bigger than the template
Step 5: Remove wrinkles from the fabric
Step 6: Spray the adhesive
Step 7: Cover the lampshade with the fabric
Step 8: Cut the excess fabric
Step 9: Fold the edge of the fabric and glue it before doing the same with the top and bottom of the lampshade
Step 10: Fold again and glue it to the lampshade
And pronto!
I hope this video gives the inspo you need to make a one-of-a-kind lampshade, just as unique as YOU are!
To a colourful life,
Ju xx
