Last Summer, I had the most incredible experience of my life, when I was selected to be one of 10 talented designers in a brand new Netflix and BBC interiors competition.
I’m feeling beyond blessed. And it’s hard to believe that I’m on telly – it feels so surreal!
Presented by Fearne Cotton with design expert and former editor of Elle Decoration, Michelle Ogundehin, as the series judge.
Each week the designers will be set a new commercial interior design challenge, ranging from shops to show homes and restaurants to hair salons. On each task, they will be tested on a whole range of skills as they attempt to work their magic and show off their design prowess to the judges.
Each week Michelle will be accompanied by a different guest judge, who will be on hand to offer their expertise, including Mary Portas, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Sophie Robinson, Matthew Williamson, Abigail Ahern, Naomi Cleaver, Thomasina Miers and Jade Jagger.” – BBC Media
The interior designers take part in a commercial design challenge to redesign two show homes. Presented by Fearne Cotton, with judge Michelle Ogundehin and guest judge Matthew Willamson.
The nine remaining designers, return to Michelle’s design studio to find out about their next challenge.
Michelle tells them that she is sending them to a hotel in Bournemouth, where they each have a bedroom to design in their own particular signature style. She wants to see their own unique styles coming through and find out who they really are as designers. But there is a twist – this hotel isn’t any standard seaside hotel, it is called Hotel Chocolate, and has a strong chocolate theme to delight their guests. Michelle tells the designers they will also have to incorporate a nod to chocolate in their room designs.
